Homework has a definite place in the educational process. It is an extension of the learning experience children have during the instructional day. Homework is designed to aid the student in achieving classroom and school goals, and it should never be used to punish or merely keep students busy. Traditional homework is not assigned and will mostly be unfinished classwork. Assignments will be posted in Google Classroom.
24/7 Learning: Students will preview, practice, and review work done in class via their Chromebook. If internet is a concern please contact me.
Unfinished Work: Assignments that are not completed in class and are within the student’s capability to finish at home.
Projects and Research: Work that involves research and the use of reference materials. It is often given on an extended-time basis.
Review for Assessments: Time spent at home studying and preparing for tests.
Late work is due 2 weeks before progress reports/report cards.
Late work will be accepted at your lunch by appointment. Come in to review your late work during your lunch with Ms. Swalberg.
Long term/larger graded assignments (assignments made at least two weeks in advance) are due the day of the student's return from an excused absence.
If a student is ill but able to do schoolwork at home, check Google Classroom for assignments.
Please call the school, or e-mail me at sswalberg@psusd.us by 8:00 am of the school day to make arrangements for work to be picked up.
