VICE PRESIDENT FOR EXTERNAL CAMPUSES
The Vice President for External Campuses holds a critical leadership position responsible for the strategic direction, academic integrity, operational efficiency, and financial health of the university's external campuses. This role necessitates the development and implementation of comprehensive strategic plans that are meticulously aligned with the overarching vision and mission of the university. A primary focus is placed on ensuring the consistent quality and relevance of academic programs offered across these campuses, necessitating ongoing monitoring and performance evaluation to identify areas for enhancement and uphold rigorous standards.
MANAGEMENT
Academic oversight is a cornerstone of this position, encompassing the meticulous management of curriculum development, faculty recruitment and retention, and the provision of robust student academic support services. Ensuring strict compliance with all accreditation standards and regulatory requirements is paramount. Furthermore, the Vice President is tasked with cultivating an environment that actively fosters research and innovation within the external campus settings.
RESPONSIBILITIES
In terms of administrative leadership, the Vice President is accountable for the day-to-day operations of the external campuses. This includes comprehensive management of budgeting, human resources, facilities, and information technology infrastructure. A key responsibility involves establishing and nurturing strong, collaborative partnerships with local government units, industry stakeholders, and other relevant external entities to maximize institutional impact and resource utilization.
FINANCE
Financial management is a crucial function, involving the oversight of financial planning, budgeting processes, revenue generation, and expenditure control for all external campuses. Adherence to all financial regulations and reporting requirements is mandatory.
HUMAN RESOURCES
The Human Resources aspect of the role involves the strategic recruitment, hiring, and retention of highly qualified faculty and staff. Providing continuous professional development opportunities is essential for employee growth and satisfaction, alongside the cultivation of a positive and supportive work environment.
SUPPLEMENTARY ROLES
Additional responsibilities include fostering transnational collaborations by identifying and developing partnerships with international institutions to enhance academic programs and research opportunities, as well as facilitating student and faculty exchange initiatives. The Vice President also champions extension and community engagement by promoting outreach programs and public service activities, and collaborating with local communities to address societal and economic challenges. Lastly, encouraging innovation and entrepreneurship among students and faculty, and supporting the development of startup businesses and technology transfer, are integral to driving future growth and impact.
