Featured Speakers,
Zachary Starr, Quix Labs
11:30am Guest Entrepreneur
Zachary Starr is the Founder and CEO of Quix Labs, a transatlantic consumer health company developing pharmacy-led solutions for nicotine reduction and smoking cessation. Through its flagship device, Quixotic, and behavioral support platform, Quitters Club, Quix Labs connects smokers and vapers with community pharmacies while helping pharmacies build new patient relationships and revenue streams.
Starr founded Quix Labs while he was still a student after recognizing the rapid rise of nicotine use among young people. What began as a mission to address that challenge has grown into a healthcare platform focused on supporting nicotine reduction through pharmacy-led distribution and behavioral support.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from West Chester University of Pennsylvania, where he later served as Entrepreneur in Residence mentoring student founders.
At Student Startup Weekend, Starr will share how he began his entrepreneurial journey as a college student and how that experience led him to build Quix Labs, along with insights on balancing higher education while launching and growing a startup.

1pm: Lunch + Resource Roundup
A dedicated session during lunch where participants learn about key resources available to help them move their ideas from concept to reality. During this session, representatives from the Penn State Dickinson Law Clinic and PennTAP (Pennsylvania Technical Assistance Program) will share practical guidance for student founders.
The Dickinson Law Clinic will lead a brief Q&A focused on intellectual property, helping students understand when to think about protecting their ideas, the differences between patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and what happens to IP created while working on a project in school.
PennTAP will then introduce resources available to help students prototype, validate, and grow their ideas, including access to design and development support through the Learning Factory, mentorship opportunities, and guidance on funding and startup tools.
