About Us

Hi! We're the Penn State Fencing Club. No, we're not the varsity team, but we like to think we love the sport just as much, even if we aren't out there qualifying for the Olympics. We're a student organization on the University Park campus, and since we were founded in 1925 we are one of the older organizations there. We're dedicated to encouraging Penn State students to try fencing, learn about techniques and strategy, and gain the guidance and equipment necessary to practice. While we are not the place to go for historical martial arts or stage fighting, we will help you get involved with the modern sport, teach you how to (safely) run with sharp objects, and at the very least give you an interesting conversation starter the next time your relative asks what you're doing at college.
