I'm a PhD Candidate studying Demography and Sociology at Penn State University. My research focuses on health disparities and spatial aspects of community, using quantitative methods. I also have a love for data, maps, and all sorts of visualizations. My dissertation examines (a) how exposure to contexts of inequality across the life course dictates health outcomes, and (b) the relationship between health crises and divergent trajectories of migration.
I've received federal funding as an NHGRI Intramural Post-bac in social network research, a USDA intern in nutrition assistance program research, and an NICHD T32 Predoctoral Trainee in social environments and population health research. My federally-funded work has helped inform research on caregiving, WIC access, and the spatiality of communities. After graduation, I plan to continue public service through research.
When I'm not reading the latest articles or working on my research projects, I enjoy trying new recipes, hanging out with my kitty Dill, and birding.
