Join our PSJA Secondary Reads Challenge!

This school year our PSJA libraries are taking a new virtual library approach. While we may not get to see each other in person, we want you to know that we are here to support you online. Our new program is called PSJA Reads. This year's theme is “Reading Without Borders.” You will find this website is dedicated to reading and other resources for secondary students. We will be proving themed reading lists, sustainability information, test prep, tech tips, book talks and much more. Students will still have activities at their home campus with their school librarian. Find your librarian here.

This website is a way to bring all our secondary students together by level (middle school or high school). We will be hosting district wide virtual book clubs by level. And... we also have a special extra challenge for you! We want you to get “READ WOKE.”

This year, make time to read novels that focus on understanding others better. It could be reading about a struggle the main character is going through, like poverty, discrimination, or fitting in. Being "Read Woke" just means that you take the time to understand other cultures or the experiences of others. When you do that, it makes you more empathetic and understanding of your fellow humans. While we may not always agree with the way others think, it is important to try to understand where others are coming from.

Attend our virtual book clubs to have a chance to discuss books with your PSJA Family. We are planning some fun contests that we will be announcing soon.
