What is Orchestra?

If you have ever watched a movie, then you have heard an orchestra. An orchestra performs the music that gives life and emotion to every video you watch. You can be a part of that too! In middle school, it is a fun group where we teach you to read music and play it on an instrument. You can choose to learn how to play the violin, viola, cello or bass.

Who can join?

Any incoming sixth grader can join! You don’t need to know anything about music. We will teach you everything you need to play an orchestra instrument!

How much does it cost?

We will teach you how to play for FREE! You only need an instrument, but there are many affordable options available.

Can I be in other activities?

Definitely! Our orchestra students are also involved in cheerleading, athletics, student council, drama, art, UIL and much more!

What instrument should I play?

In orchestra, you can choose from the following instruments:

The violin is the smallest of the orchestra family. It is the instrument with the highest pitch.

The viola is slightly larger than the violin but is played the same way. It produces the lower soothing sounds of the orchestra.

The cello is the second largest instrument in the orchestra. It is played sitting down and is the instrument that sounds the closest to the human voice.

The bass is the largest instrument and is the lowest sounding of the orchestra family. It is the foundation and most important instrument of the orchestra.
