TRANSLATING INNOVATIONS INTO COMMERCIALIZATION: STRENGTHENING TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER IN THE PHILIPPINE SCIENCE HIGH SCHOOL SYSTEM (PSHSS)- Phase 2
A Description
Technology Transfer Phase 1: Developing Technology Transfer Capacity of the PSHS System (June 2023 – May 2025). Through this initiative, the PSHSS successfully achieved significant milestones, including:
68 IPs filed (Patent - 12, Utility Model - 31, Industrial Design - 25)
15 Technology Transfer and Licensing Offices established
33 staff trained and capacitated in Intellectual Property Management and Technology Commercialization
20 IP echo-seminars and workshops for students, teachers, and staff
5 Technology Pitching Events (System-wide & Cluster Pitching)
Technology Transfer Framework drafted
Building on these achievements, Phase 2 aims to advance the PSHSS technology transfer initiatives by refining pre-commercialization and commercialization strategies. The goal is to translate promising research outputs into viable, market-ready technologies—ensuring that innovations developed within the PSHSS not only contribute to national R&D but also generate tangible solutions for communities. Year 1 will concentrate on strengthening internal capacity. Year 2 will focus on bringing technologies closer to the market.
