The performance of The Lord of the Flies by the Langgam Performance Troupe was very compelling. The silent, unbroken tension in the room was a testament to how intense the performance was. The excerpt, specifically, was a brilliant analogy to how the system of our government would fall apart if the branches were disharmonious.
It especially highlights the importance of a constitution. Since none of the three branches of the government can dominate the other two branches, the constitution is needed to keep the harmony between the three branches and to keep their powers checked.
The performance of our fellow batchmates regarding the different body parts trying to gain dominance was also very compelling. It effectively showcased the vastly different ways of gaining the loyalty of others in a natural way.
In each act, attempts in gaining the favour of others was met with stubbonrnness, the audience always showing a unified front when power was threatened. Their performances, most importantly the Langgam Troupe's, helped in highlighting the unspoken want to be free from ruling, freedom to fulfill selfish desires.
