You are considered eligible for selection to the French or Spanish National Honor Society if you meet all of the following criteria:
You are at least a Sophomore actively enrolled in an upper level Spanish or French class (Level III or higher)
You have completed at least three semesters of the target language or, if you are a new student, you must have spent one full semester in the program at The Bromfield School.
You have a cumulative French or Spanish average of A- (3.7) for all language classes awarded secondary school credit.
You have a B average or higher in all other classes during the year of selection.
You have an overall GPA of B- (2.7) or higher. (not including French or Spanish classes)
You have a good behavior record and no discipline issues on record.
The application process opens in February after the 2nd quarter report cards are available. Typically, applications are due right before February break. If you are interested in applying, your language teacher will provide you with a Google Classroom code with access to the application.
You will be asked to respond to some questions in English as well as write a brief essay (250-300 words) in the target language. The use of translators or AI is prohibited.
