I am Dr. D. Thangaraju, Associate Professor at the School of Advanced Sciences, VIT Vellore, with a strong research background in nanomaterials, luminescent materials, advanced functional materials, and their applications in biomedical, energy, and environmental sciences.
My research focuses on the design, synthesis, characterization, and application of functional nanomaterials, particularly lead-free halide perovskite nanoparticles, rare-earth-doped nanomaterials, luminescent nanocomposites, bioimaging materials, and advanced microscopy.
I have extensive international research experience, including a JSPS Postdoctoral Fellowship at Shizuoka University, Japan, and postdoctoral research at CNRS–ENSCP, Paris, France. Prior to joining VIT, I served as an Associate Professor at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, where I established the Nano-Crystal Design and Application Laboratory (n-DAL) and led multidisciplinary research projects.
My research contributions include 92 international journal publications and 9 patents, along with experience in Government of India–funded and Indo-Japanese collaborative research projects.
At VIT Vellore, I look forward to advancing interdisciplinary research, developing innovative materials and technologies, mentoring young researchers, and building strong national and international collaborations.
