PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) was established in the year 2014 by PSG & Sons Charities Trust and strives to realize its objective of enhancing youth empowerment through technical education. PSG iTech caters to various engineering disciplines and hence it is focused into active learning, innovative and inclusive pedagogy and institute-industry engagement. Further it perseveres to achieve excellence in education and research and nurture engineers with ethics, who will face global challenges to serve the industry and society. Within a decade, PSG iTech has emerged as a highly preferred technical institute among the engineering aspirants in India with a NIRF ranking band between 100-150. Consistently over the years, PSG iTech is top ranked among the affiliated colleges of Anna University, Chennai.

About Department of Physics

The main motto of the Department of Physics is to strengthen the fundamental concepts of physics with emphasis on engineering applications to awaken the critical thinking of students, their problem solving abilities and broaden the intellectual perspectives so as to equip them to face the professional challenges in future. The department has 6 faculties and 6 research scholars working in the field of energy harvest, energy storage, nano biotechnology, bioimaging, crystal growth, luminescence, nano materials, non-destructive testing, inorganic thin film solar cell, perovskite, high entropy oxides, dilute magnetic oxide thin films. With 90+ international publications, faculty and students collaborate in the inter- disciplinary projects and utilize the facilities in the department.

About FDP

The primary objective of this FDP is to provide exposure in the current field of scientific advancement leading to technological innovations by relating the fundamental properties of materials and devices. The focus will be on the basics, advances, and applications to benefit distinct people from the academic and research community who are associated with the disciplines of Physics, Electronics, Electrical, Nanotechnology, Quantum Computing, etc. Keynote speakers will be eminent professors from IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, IIT Palakkad, IIT Hyderabad, NIT Trichy, PSG Tech, PSG IAS, and University of Madras. Moreover, interactive sessions, research lab demonstration, and teaching pedagogy will provide a good platform for sharing the synergy with experts, passionate teaching faculties, and focused research scholars.Â
