Dr. A. Kumaravel obtained his B.Sc (Chemistry) degree in 2003, followed by an M.Sc (Chemistry) in 2005 at Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore. He pursued his Ph.D at CSIR-Central Electrochemical Research Institute (CECRI) in the year 2013. In 2006, he successfully cleared the State Eligibility Test (SET) for lectureship on his first attempt. Dr. Kumaravel's research interests encompass electrochemical sensors, corrosion, supercapacitors, and batteries. He served as a research associate at CSIR-CECRI for three years. He also gained valuable industrial experience at Orchid Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Ltd, Chennai, for a year. With 12 years of teaching experience, he has made significant contributions to the field. His research has resulted in the publication of 20 international research papers, including one that was recognized as one of the top 25 Hottest Articles in the Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry. Dr. Kumaravel's Ph.D research work was featured in the VERTICAL NEWS channel, highlighting its importance and impact. He has guided 8 M.Sc Students in their project work. Currently, he is leading a DST-SERB-TARE project valued at 18.3 Lakhs. In addition to his research and teaching responsibilities, he has taken on various roles such as HOD in charge, Warden, and exam cell coordinator. Presently, he is also entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the Eco-club at PSGiTECH.
