Generative AI can be used to create images quickly and easily.

We are practicing this early as we will have many opportunities to use created images in future projects!

Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Week 1

There are two major kinds of artificial intelligence (AI), Predictive and Generative. Predicative is largely used to emulate human speech patterns. The most widely used predicative AI is making a Google search (DEMO).

Other examples can include home assistants such as Alexa, Siri and Hey Google.

Generative, what we will be focusing on today, is used to create text, pictures and even videos from something called prompts. Today we will be using generative AI to create a wide range of images, or pictures.

Prompts are the way we phrase what we want created. When using prompts, it is best to be specific vs. vague. Including many details are important for getting specific results. For example, when creating an image:

Prompt 1: Dog with a bone.

Prompt 2: A small, fuzzy Parson Russel Terrier is sitting on the floor of the kitchen. She is eating a delicious bone!

Why AI isn't truly intelligent... (AKA the human factor)

Remember! AI is not actually intelligent. It will make mistakes and be confused often. It is an emerging technology and even when it isn't perfect, it's pretty amazing to imagine how much it will improve over the next few years!

Success Criteria

By using and revising a prompt, selecting a style and an aspect ratio (canvas size), I was able to create an image that was specific.
