The Tech Choice Model

Empowering learners for the future

PSD is committed to providing quality experiences for students.

We believe in continually analyzing the manner in which we utilize technology to scale up learning.

Overview & Objectives of Choice Model

  • Schools have choice in which primary device is provided for students.

  • Device refresh cycle will be a full school change every four years.

  • Using the T3 Framework, school teams will analyze the manner in which technology is being used by students and teachers to inform their decision.

Transition Order

  • 2020-2021: RMHS Feeder + Choice Schools

  • 2021-2022: FCHS Feeder

  • 2022-2023: PHS Feeder + WMH Feeder

  • 2023-2024: FRHS Feeder + TMH Feeder

*Schools engage in choice model PD and interactions the school year prior to implementation.

The Menu of Choices

How will we measure the impact of devices on learning?

Impact Indicators

How we will measure the impact technology has on learning.

  • Teacher self-reflection data through the T3 Framework (more teachers report using technology to design opportunities for students at Transforming (T2) and Transcending (T3) domains)

  • School identified goals and progress for integrating technology

  • Student-created products that showcase varying use of technology (T3 Framework - Producing and Contributing)

  • Shift from traditional text-based instruction to increased digital consumption and production
