Art Aroud Tavelli:  Student art work is a prominent feature of the hallways at Talvelli!  Here's whats up!

Our second-grade students created these amazing water color self-portraits.  They painted themselves in action doing something they enjoy doing outside.  We learned about drawing bodies in motion and self-portraits.  We learned how to add details to our picture that described the environment.  We also learned several different watercolor techniques. We learned how to paint a blend, a wash and light and dark with our paints.

Our first grade students created these self-portraits.  We studied several famous artists’ self-portraits before creating our own.  We learned about Drawing the human face, and  how to use lines, repetition and pattern to create the designs in our background.

We learned how to paint a watercolor blend for the background, and how to paint light and dark colors with our watercolors.

Can you tell who these students are by looking at their self-portraits?

Our third grade students created their self-portraits in the style of the famous artist Romero Britto.  We learned that artists can be agents of positive change by creating art work that carries positive energies and expresses kind and loving feelings. We usese bright colors and learned how to create bold desings by repeating shapes and lines ot create patterns.

Our Fourth grade students created these self-portraits in the style of the famous Spanish artist Giuseppe Arcimboldo.  Guiseppe Arcimboldo painted portraits using fruits and vegetables for the different facial features.  Our fourth graders created their self-portraits using things that they liked for their facial features. Can you tell what these students like?

Our Fourth Grade students created these radial designs using origami pieces for the building blocks.  We learned about Radial Design, which is a design that is the same from the inside out and all the way around.  We also learned about Origami, which is the ancient Japanese art of paper folding.

Geometry and art came together to make these wonderful designs. Our students learned about precision, geometric building blocks, symmetrical alignment and variations.
