Math:
These kids are addition and subtraction champions! We’ve been working on multi-step story problems and learning how to identify the hidden question that must be solved before finding the final answer. Check out our Unit 7 website below. We’re also continuing to strengthen our understanding of place value and build fact fluency.

Reading:
Throughout this unit, we’ve been learning about paleontologists and how they use fossils to understand Earth’s past. Check out Fossils Tell of Earth’s Changes below! We’re about to embark on writing narrative nonfiction stories. Our phonics and spelling focus includes words with -ge or -dge. For our read-aloud, we’re enjoying The Tale of Despereaux.

Science:
We’re continuing to learn about animals, including the diversity of animals and their habitats. Our current focus is on bioluminescence and the different reasons animals use it. Check out our Plant and Animal Adaptations website for more information.
