In this class, we will study people, governments, cultures and movements. You may encounter beliefs that are different from your own. Analyzing others’ beliefs is in no way meant to replace your family or personal culture. You are being asked to come to this study as a social scientist. We are not passing judgment on the cultures of others, but instead analyzing how they are shaped by geography, economics and history because these factors shape our lives as well.
