Daily Routine Guide for Remote Learners
Students will be using Microsoft Teams for the Remote: PCA - Journey Mathematics Course.
Watch a Tutorial on how to use --> Microsoft Teams
Before class starts, grab your class folder, paper, pen/pencil, and other necessary materials.
Try to find a quiet distraction-free location where you can sit up and be present and attentive. That means Turn OFF any video games or other online programs that will distract your learning, yes that includes your cell phone and television.
Open your laptop and sign in.
Open a search engine (Google, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, etc.)
Open a Tab for your student email, Quizizz, Google Docs, and an online calculator (see the class page at left for calculator links listed in class information).
Open your student email and check for any new announcements, and/or class meeting changes or updates. If there are no new updates, proceed to Microsoft Teams.
Go to your internet browser and go to teams.microsoft.com
If it does NOT let you log into Teams the first time, wait 10 seconds, open a new tab, and try again. I don't know why this works, but it usually does...
When in Microsoft Teams, Click on the Teams tab on the left.
Select the Join button on the top right. If you cannot find it, go to the Teams Calendar tab on the left and join the available class meeting.
Once in the class meeting open the Chat for instructions, and greet your teacher; Hello, Good Morning, etc.
Please make sure you are muted during lectures unless called upon to answer a question or you have a class-focused and appropriate question.
The first 5 minutes of class will be your time to sign into the day's Lesson and Open the Snipping Tool on your Desktop. This time will, also, allow other students to join our meeting. So please be on time so we can start class ASAP. If you arrive after the first 5 minutes you will be marked tardy unexcused, and you still need to say hello in the chat.
As a class, we will go over the Lesson and you will be asked to take the day's notes, yet you will need to participate in the questions provided in the lesson to earn a grade. This is the Work Habit Portion of your Grade in the Class. I recommend that you take notes to help your learning and understanding. Plus, you can use them while completing the daily assignment and taking the weekly FRIDAY QUIZ.
When the lesson is over, stay in the meeting and go to our Google Classroom to complete the day's assignment.
Please Stay in the live classroom meeting until I excuse the class. If you complete the assignment early, let me know so I may check if you have any zero lessons, assignments, or QUIZzes you need to complete. If you are all caught up, at that point, I may excuse you early from class.
Email/Message me using Teams with any specific questions, comments, or concerns you may have.
And please Go to your other Teachers' Learning Pages and check for any updates/announcements or other online resources. The links for teacher learning pages can be found on the PCA Website under the Staff Directory.
