All About Me
I absolutely LOVE being a 5th-grade teacher! This is my 14th year teaching at McGraw and my 22nd year teaching overall. I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with an emphasis in history from the University of Northern Colorado (Greeley). I completed my master’s degree in education, equity, and cultural and linguistic diversity in 2021 from the University of Colorado (Boulder).Â
Being at McGraw has been the most wonderful experience. I am continually perfecting my craft as I learn alongside my students and colleagues. No two days are ever the same, and I couldn’t imagine a more fulfilling career. I have always been drawn to literacy and social studies, but math and science have become favorites of mine, too. My favorite subject is usually the one I am currently teaching.
My husband, Mike, and I have two wonderful daughters. Claire is starting 8th grade at Webber Middle School, and Audrey will be in 5th grade this year. We have two dogs, Teddy and Monte, who add a lot of joy and loads of fur and drool to our lives. We love to spend time outdoors together. This summer, we enjoyed camping, hiking, and fishing together.
A few of my favorite things are: peanut M&Ms, Kind Bars, Made Good granola bars and bites, and ice cream...especially Edison's! I am gluten-free and caffeine-free. I love fresh flowers, plants, and candles.Â
