For our fellow students at Futures Lab in the Audio Production/Recording class, we created sound-absorbing Go Betweens, or "Go-Bos."
They proposed the project to us because of their need for sound barriers to better record instruments and vocals.
We applied the Design Thinking process to our project and got to work immediately.
Our project included brainstorming, designing, creating models (scaled and physical) , gathering materials, and constructing the Go-Bos themselves with power tools and teamwork. We ended up creating four Go-Bos for the Audio Production class.
For this project, our class took a trip to CPP Wind Engineering Consultants, a local engineering consultant who specialize in designing buildings to anticipate and stand up to the effects of wind.
After touring their facility, and learning about what it is they do and seeing some of the models they use, we were given the task of redesigning their No-Work/Break room.
In this project, we dove more into the interior design part of our class. We created a design after an interview process with the company. We created a room design to fit their wants and add our creative ideas to create a no-work room all the employees can enjoy.
