This is my 24th year teaching, which is hard for me to believe because it has flown by. The first four years I taught students with special needs, then I taught kindergarten for 14 years, and these last years I have spent teaching second grade. My first two years of teaching were in Ohio and the rest have all been at Lopez. Needless to say. . . I love Lopez! I sincerely hope you find the warm connections that I have experienced throughout my time here as well.
When I am not at Lopez, I am usually at home with my husband, 17 year-old son, two dogs, and a cat. I also have a son who is 19 and just moved out of our house to go to college. I like to read, paddle board, and spend time with my family, friends, and pets.
This year is bound to be an adventure and I am looking forward to making it a successful one. I know there will be challenges along the way, so please have patience and open communication with me. I will offer the same to you. More than anything, I want you and your child to feel good about our classroom. While I cannot predict how things will progress, I can guarantee all of you that I will love your child. Your children are the reason I believe I have the best job in the world (even under these unique circumstances)!!!
