Welcome to the Visual Arts at Lincoln

Greeting Lincoln Families,

As I begin my 21st year as the art at Lincoln, I am excited to get the year started!

Our goal in art is to use the artistic process and hands-on activities to grow as learners. We will utilize a variety of art techniques and make art we are proud of. Each semester we have a digital art show plus a number of district art exhibitions. We will be doing some old favorites as well as exploring new ideas.

Our first assignment is posted in Google Classroom. It is our Expectations Contract. It covers the ins and outs of the art room and how we do business. Your student needs to show this to you before marking it as turned in. Please don’t hesitate to email me with questions and concerns.

Whether you are new to Lincoln or coming back for another year, we are so glad to see you!

Additional Information

  • Work-Load: Each student works at a different pace and there are times when the class moves on before every students is ready. When this happens, the project is due a week from the official last day. This may require a student to arrange a time to come in and finish the assignment

  • Absences: When a student is absent, they need to contact the teacher (or a classmate) to find out what they missed. Make-up work may need to be completed outside of class time and students should work with the teacher to make a plan.

  • Behavior and Tardy Policy: Students will be held accountable for their behavior during class (as well as in the hallway. Students will be reminded and then redirected for unwanted behaviors. This may result in a hallway conversation, completion of a Problem Solving Sheet and/or an office referral. Please see the student planner for more detailed information.

  • Communication: I will do my best to communicate with students and parents around expectations, due dates, grades, and behavioral concerns. Please feel free to contact me anytime, email is best.
