Success Criteria
What do you Need?
two players
pen/pencil + paper
What's the Goal?
Guess your opponent's secret number before they guess yours!
How do you Play?
1. Each player writes down a secret four-digit number.
All of the digits must be different!
2. Take turns guessing four-digit numbers.
Again, no repeating digits in the numbers that you guess. Your opponent will report how many of your digits were BULLSEYES (correct digit, correct position) and how many were CLOSE CALLS (correct digit, wrong position). However, you will not be told which digits were which!
Play continues with each person guessing and learning more information about your opponent's secret number.
3. The winner is whoever scores four bullseyes in the fewest guesses!
After you finish, pick new secret numbers and start again!

Variations
Repeats Allowed - Allow repeat digits, both in the secret number and in guesses. For example, if the secret number is 1112, and you guess 1221, then your feedback is one bullseye (for the first digit being 1) and two close calls (for the final two digits being 2 and 1, but in the wrong order)
Self-Incrimination - Every guess is applied to both numbers. That is, when you make a guess, not only does your opponent give feedback, but you give feedback, too, as if your opponent had just made the same guess. For example, if you guess 3456, and your own secret number was 1234, then you must say "two close calls." This requires extra strategizing, as you don't want to make a guess that reveals too much about your own number!
