Class Parties & Rewards
Students can earn class rewards through our behavior reward system. Rewards can include PJ Days, Books & Blankets Days, and treats. Please watch for Remind notifications about parties and rewards throughout the year.
Behavior Information
School-wide Behavior
Laurel Elementary is a PBIS (Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports) School. Students can earn both individual and whole group rewards called "PAWS" anywhere in the school. When our class has earned 15 Classroom PAWS, we get a whole group reward. Individual PAWS are turned in weekly for a prize drawing. These PAWS also go into an end-of-year drawing for huge prizes!
Learn more about PBIS here.
Classroom Behavior
Our classroom expectations follow along with Laurel's ROAR model behavior:
Be Respectful
Own your behavior
Have a positive Attitude
Be Responsible
I believe that the best way to help students be successful is by working as a team. I look forward to working with you and your child to make this year AMAZING!!
Read more about our classroom behavior system in the slide show above.
Field Trips
We have several field trips throughout the year. Each field trip we take helps students to deepen their understanding of academic content and/or provide experiences that support their social and emotional growth and development.
Please be sure to sign and return all permissions lips as soon as possible.
School Assemblies and Events
Our community at Laurel is incredible! We frequently have events both during school and after school. Most school-wide events are shared through the monthly newsletter, emails, and phone calls. Be sure to keep your contact information up to date so you don't miss anything!
If you are interested in being a volunteer in the classroom, on field trips, or for school events, be sure to complete the volunteer paperwork. This must be completed yearly. If you have any questions, please contact the Laurel front office.
