I am very excited to be your child’s 5th grade teacher! This is my fourth year at Laurel Elementary and my ninth year of teaching. It’s going to be a year full of fun, knowledge, and adventure, and I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us! As an avid reader, I encourage my students to find and read books that pique their interest, and I love suggesting new books for children to enjoy.
The excitement of learning new ideas empowers our students, which is one reason why I love teaching 5th grade. I am passionate about providing opportunities to your children, not only to become responsible for their choices, but their education, skills, and abilities.
I strongly advocate for communication in my classroom. Please expect regular emails or notices/newsletters from me with important dates, reminders, or messages about your child. PLEASE CHECK THE TAKE HOME FOLDER EVERYDAY. My goal is for students to finish the year as confident, well-rounded individuals who can think critically and logically about the world around them.
I cannot wait to get to know more about each of you, but for now- here’s a little bit about me. My husband is a therapist and we have 2 rescue dogs, Daisy and Sterling. Our daughter, Ainslie, is walking babbling one-year-old we are obsessed with her! I love to read, tend to my plants, hike, and paddleboard. My favorite sports teams are Rockies, Minnesota Gophers, and CSU Rams. I am a Ravenclaw, love Star Wars, and Beauty & the Beast.
I look forward to creating a safe and welcoming learning environment and making every day an adventure with your children.
