I am a Colorado Native! I was born and raised in a small town outside of Steamboat Springs called Yampa. There were 22 people in my high school graduating class and our high school was made up of kids from 5 different towns if that helps describe the size. :) I have one brother and two sisters and lots of nieces and nephews.
I attended college in Greeley at the University of Northern Colorado for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I met my husband while attending college and we just celebrated out 25th wedding anniversary. We have two amazing sons. One lives in New York City and works for Bloomberg Financial and the other one lives in Boulder and attends CU Boulder studying Environmental Design.
This is my 25th year of teaching and I have been blessed to have taught all of my years at Kruse. I taught 4th-6th grade literacy and special education for nine years. Then I moved to fifth grade and spent 11 years teaching there. This is my fifth year in 2nd grade. Teaching is my passion because not only do I get to teach the kids everyday, but they teach ME something new everyday!
I am thankful that you are sharing your children with me this year and I look forward to watching them grow as learners. While this is not the most ideal situation for learning, we are going to make the most of it and have a great year! Thank you in advance for all your support and encouragement! We couldn't do our jobs as teachers without your support!
