Hello everyone!
This week in preschool we wrapped up our study on Pets. Next week, we'll begin a study on Exercise. Young children are in nearly constant motion! Moving makes children feel capable and confident, releases tension, and builds strong bodies and minds. Children’s love of movement will make this study of exercise very exciting! We’ll try many types of exercise, watch other people exercise, find out how bodies move, and learn what our bodies need to move and exercise. If you love a certain type of exercise (yoga, ball sports, dance, skating, etc.) and would be willing to share your knowledge with our class, please let me know!
A quick note about winter weather: Guidelines for early childhood are a little different from elementary students. Preschoolers will play outside for recess when the "feels like" temperature is 30* or above. When snow is on the ground, students must wear snow boots and snow pants to play in the snow. Students without boots/pants play in the cleared area of the sidewalk. It's a lot of work for us to help children get dressed and undressed, but very worthwhile! We all really need the fresh air. Thanks for your help in sending winter gear on those cold and snowy days.
With the cold air comes dry lips and hands. Feel free to send chapstick and lotion with your child in their backpack. These items will stay in their backpack and students can access them as needed. These are not things we are allowed to share with students, due to the potential for allergic reactions.
It's holiday season! Please let me know if your child celebrates a holiday other than, or in addition to Christmas, or if you do not celebrate any holidays, or need me to be aware of any issues surrounding this season. Thank you!
Please see below for important upcoming dates. Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello, my name is Kendra Bowman. I'm so grateful to be your child's teacher this year! The Fort Collins area has been my home for almost 30 years. I'm mom to four wonderful, young adults all of whom attend or attended schools in Poudre School District. When I'm not teaching, I love spending time with my husband, our family and friends - preferably outside.
Our Full Day schedule is 7:30am - 2:23pm.
In the case of remote sessions, Teams meetings links will be posted here and emailed to families.
To report an absence, please call the Early Childhood office at 970-490-3336.
