I am so excited to have you in my class this year! I can't wait to get to know all of my students because although I am incredibly passionate about what I teach, I am much more excited to see what wonderful humans walk into my classroom. So to get you started on our journey together- here is a little bit about me so you have an idea of who your teacher is!
I have been teaching social studies education since 2001 years in both Minnesota and Colorado. Early in my career I taught middle and high school Geography and American History, coached swimming, and led various diversity clubs. While teaching full time, I completed both my Masters and Doctorate in Educational Leadership at the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota.
After living in Minnesota for 20 years, I decided that it was time to return to my home state of Colorado where I began my work at FRHS in 2015. Since being at Fossil, I have taught Geography, Psychology, World History, our project-based learning class, Ridge WRX, and both Sabercat 101 and Sabercat 101 Leadership Foundations. I have also coached the girl's swim team, advised Student Council, Link Crew, Black Student Union and Key Club, as well as working as an advisory coach for all sophomore advisories. I love sharing the wonder of the world every day with my students, three children, and my husband.
