My name is Mr. Dannahower and I will be the STEM instructor this year. I have been teaching since 2001 and I have been a Sabercat for 12 years. SKO RIDGE! I live in Ft. Collins with my wife and two kids. We all enjoy camping, hiking, hunting and many other outdoor activities. This is my third year as the STEM Director at Fossil. I look forward to guiding students as they learn the many fields and skills encompassed in the STEM fields.
The survey course is an opportunity for students to learn about the different skills and opportunities in the STEM field. Lessons include coding, CAD, 3D printing, biotechnology techniques and technical writing. During freshmen year, students are recommended to the STEM academy and invited to participate sophomore year.
The seminar course is a capstone project. Students plan and implement a project in small teams. Twenty-first century skills are emphasized throughout the project. Students expand on STEM skills learned in the Survey course.
