Welcome to Work-Based Learning! I am excited to have you in "class".

Work-Based learning is different from a traditional class. Instead of earning your credit by attending a class in a specific period four days a week at FCHS, you will be earning credit for your paid work, volunteer, internship, or apprenticeship experience. You will also be completing core assignments and timesheets on google classroom and meeting with Mrs. Davidson for a one-on-one bi-weekly to check in and make sure things are going well for you. One-on-ones will be scheduled during your off period through sign up genius with links posted on google classroom.

Work-Based learning offers you flexibility in your schedule and variable credit. Every 15 hours you spend in your experience (i.e. at work), earns you 1 elective credit. You can earn up to 10 credits per semester and a total of 45 credits throughout your high school career.

Each week, you will record the actual time you spend at work. You may have an additional assignment to complete on google classroom. You will check in with me at least monthly.

50% of your grade is earned by completing required paperwork including the WBL agreement, employer, and self evaluations. The other 50% of your grade is earned through attending the kick-off meeting, monthly one on ones, timesheets, google classroom assignments, and presentation of learning. You also have the opportunity to attend career tours to learn more about in demand careers in our community.
