Presentation

Left: This presentation was created for the tech orientation day so that the crew would know what they were working on, and how it would work due to COVID.

T-Shirt Brainstorming

Above Left: We brainstormed lots of designs for the t-shirts, although all of the ones shown above were scrapped. However, lots of the themes (stars/space, picture frames, city skylines, etc) were carried over into the final designs.

Above Right: We used this form to gather any designs that crew or cast members outside of the crew might've had. While we did not get any responses, we thought it was a good idea to do as in a normal year the shirt is designed by a member of the theater community. Click "Fill out form" to view it! (Please do not fill out the form.)

Above: After lots of drafting (and feedback from Mr. Tyler and other members of the show), we settled on these three designs to decide between for the shirt. The design on the right, created by Kennen Wageman, was selected as the final design.

Above: As part of his tech lead application, Eugene Worford (crew lead) created these 11 poster designs. The first two designs were based on a space theme, and the next three were based on the following lyrics in the opening number: "A new world calls for me to follow/a new world waits for my reply." The next four were based on the introductory song for each voice type (On the Deck of a Spanish Sailing Ship, 1492 for the tenors, Just One Step for the mezzos, I'm Not Afraid of Anything for the sopranos, and The River Won't Flow for the baritones.) The final two designs were not based off of anything specific in the show, but rather they captured a sort of "adventure-like vibe."

Poster Brainstorming

Above: We brainstormed for the posters as well, and used a lot of posters and other material from other theaters that had done Songs for a New World for inspiration.

Below: After the brainstorming session, we made these potential designs (created by Zoe Halseide, Kennen Wageman & Eugene Worford).

Below: These two designs, created by Zoe Halseide and Eugene Worford, were selected as the final designs. However, only the second one is used outside of this Exhibition.

Below: We brainstormed quite a lot of different sticker and pin concepts, ranging from simply being the show's title to being derived from a specific song to just having a sort of vibe that reminded us of the show.

Below: These designs, created by Zoe Halseide, were selected as the final designs for the sticker and pin. The pin is the one with the frame and the lightbulb, while the sticker is the one with the paper boat.
