The Process and Projects:
In this semester course students may practice all basic forms of creating pottery as well as sculpting in clay, wire and paper mache.
This class is designed to be self paced. Students will complete clay and/or non clay skill projects in order and at their own pace. Mistakes and failures are expected and are an important part of the creative process. Only successful projects will be graded when they are ready. When students have demonstrated proficiency in a skill they will be allowed to move onto the next more complex one. When all basic projects are completed students will then choose one or more advanced projects to complete. Each advanced project will require students to research, plan and refine an idea, create their piece, and write an artist statement. We will end the semester sculpting in wire and paper mache or foil to create Giacometti inspired figures as well as create bowls to raise money for the Larimer County Food Bank.
All tests and written work can be found in Google Classroom. Your child will have access to this site. Please contact me if you need help accessing this site.
