School counselors are here to support students' social and emotional well being while at school! Transitioning to middle school can be a challenging time, so our goal is to build strong relationships and provide a safe place for students to get the support they need.
Counselors also manage 504 Plans, oversee ICAP education and development, manage schedules, and are active members of the MTSS (multi-tiered systems of support) team. Each counselor manages a grade level along with additional roles in the building.

I am proud to call myself a Boltz Phoenix for over 20 years, and I am the 6th grade counselor this year! I truly love working with middle school students.. they are the best!
I am originally from Overland Park, Kansas and received my bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas in English. My education career began in San Clemente, California where I taught English and Drama for three years. I received my teaching certifications through California Sate University, San Marcos. Once my family and I moved to beautiful Fort Collins, I continued my career teaching English, Drama, and Musical Theater at Boltz. Through those years, I found my passion for counseling students as well and received my master's degree in School Counseling and Psychotherapy through Adams Sate College. I have been a school counselor at Boltz for 10 years.
In my free time, I enjoy being with my family, reading, hiking, being outdoors, and traveling. I have two boys and an English Cream Golden Retriever named Bear. I am always honored to be part of the Boltz family!

Hello! My name is Andrea Christensen and I am the 7th grade counselor this year! This is my first year at Boltz Middle School and my third year as a school counselor. I graduated from University of Denver with bachelor degrees in Marketing and Psychology. After two years working in advertising agencies, I decided to go back to school to pursue a career using my psychology degree to help students.
I returned to University of Denver and completed a Masters in Counseling with a concentration in school counseling and a specialization in adolescent addictions. It was one of the best decision I’ve made! I love watching students grow and change throughout the school year.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time in the mountains with my Corgi, Henley.

I have been happy to call Boltz my home for over 20 years. I am originally from San Luis Obispo, CA. I received my bachelor's degree from Sonoma State in Spanish and International Studies. I later finished a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and teaching license in Social Studies from CSU. I taught World History and Geography at Heath Middle School in Greeley before getting my dream teaching job at Boltz Middle school. I taught social studies for nine years here.
Although I love teaching, I found my true passion in counseling. I now have a second Master's Degree in Counseling and have been a school counselor for Boltz for over 10 years. Besides counseling and working in the Wellness Center, I also run the WEB Leadership program and I get to annually take kids on a leadership program to Costa Rica.
I truly have the perfect job!
