COVID-19 update. In the event you are at home for an extended period of time (and well enough to work) please check the Google Classroom links for your class. I will post relevant information and all graded assignments there as we start them in class. When families are struggling with extended absences due to COVID-19; I aim to provide them what they need to re-enter the school easily by making assignments available in the Google Classroom and posting relevant classroom instructions there. Please email me to let me know if anything additional would be helpful for your unique situation, and I will email you with additional resources (outside of the Google Classroom content) directly.
Students will explore the geography of the Eastern Hemisphere by first exploring the past and developing civilizations. They will then learn about different governmental systems and how citizens' responsibilities and freedoms differ between each system. Next students will explore resources, and how and why those resources are traded between countries. Lastly, students will learn about globalization and how different countries interact culturally and politically. All the while, students will compare the Eastern Hemisphere with their own cultures and political systems here in the United States.
