Teacher Message

Welcome Bruins! Can't wait to get ACTIVE!

Dear Bruins!

GRADING: Please refer to the tabs at the top of this page for grading information. Students are graded on:

  • In-person participation/synchronous learning (Activity we do together)

  • Assignments/quizzes etc. We start most of these assignments/quizzes in class. However, some will be provided as a homework assignment to do at home.

Parents: Please check PE grades frequently. If you have any questions, feel free to email me and we can set up a virtual meeting.

Virtual Meetings: If you have questions about a specific assignment etc, please email me and we can set up a separate virtual meeting.

Other Reminders:

  • Locker rooms are NOT available for students to change clothes in this semester, so you will need to come to school prepared and ready for physical activity. No flip flops, sandals, boots, skirts, low cut shirts or clothing that will restrict you from physically activities. T shirts, athletic shorts, yoga pants, or athletic pants, and tennis shoes are required for class. It might be helpful to make a reminder on your phone to remind you know which day is a PE day.

  • Cell phones are NOT allowed in class. So students will need to keep these with their backpacks in the locker room which will be locked up.

  • Students are required to have their own water bottle and be prepared with clothing to go outside depending on the weather.

GO BRUINS!!

Coach Polenz

Bruin Parents,

Your student may be excluded from school on November 1, 2021, if Blevins does not have an up-to-date vaccine record, certificate of exemption, or in-process plan on file for your student.

Students entering 6th grade must receive one dose of Tdap vaccine, even if they are under 11 years of age.

All vaccines required by PSD are listed below:

  • Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap)

  • Hepatitis B (HepB)

  • Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)

  • Polio (IPV)

  • Varicella (chickenpox)

For help finding free or low-cost vaccines and providers who offer them:

Exemptions

  • If you choose not to have your student vaccinated according to the current recommended schedule because of personal belief or religious reasons, you must submit a Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption to your school. Nonmedical exemptions must be submitted annually at every new school year (July 1st through June 30th of the following year).

  • Two ways to file a nonmedical exemption, certificates and online education module:

You can send the most recent immunization information to the front office at Blevins, or email a copy to Blevins’ nurse consultant Heather Haycraft at hhaycraft@psdschools.org.
