Niwot, Colorado
Professional Background/Education/Experience:
I have been teaching for 27 years. My bachelor's is in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Florida (Pensacola) and my master's is in Educational Administration from Grand Canyon University. I have taught mainly in the primary grades: preschool, kindergarten and first, with the majority of my experience in kindergarten. I am also a Nationally Board Certified Teacher (NBCT) in the area of Early Childhood.
What I love about working at Beattie:
Being part of the staff and community at Beattie has been the highlight of my career. The open classrooms, small school atmosphere, creative students and supportive families make Beattie one of a kind!
Personal Interests/Hobbies:
I recently was remarried, changing my last name from Ballard to Couget (pronounced 'coo' - 'jay')! My husband, Paul, and I love to travel, explore Fort Collins and hike. I have three grown children: Miranda, Zach and Faith; and two grandsons: Cohen and Miller. I also gained a bonus daughter, Alyse. We are looking forward to blending our families and our lives together!
