Hometown: 

I am originally from Deming, New Mexico. My hometown is only 30 miles from the border of Mexico, so I grew up on some of the most amazing Mexican Food I have even eaten.  I was lucky enough that I spent the first 18 years of my life in the same town that I was born.  My mother and several of my siblings are still living in my hometown of Deming.  Just for your information, Deming is known for its Duck Races that happen every August.   Over the years, I  have lived in New Mexico, Idaho, Ohio and now Colorado. I have been in Colorado for several years and love exploring the state and other local areas.

Professional Background/Education/Experience: 

I attended Ricks College for two years before transferring to Idaho State University where I finished my degree in Early Childhood  education.  I have been a part of the Early Childhood community in different aspects for the past 20 years.  I am passionate about working with young children, watching them grow and develop and continue on to Kindergarten and beyond. Over my career I have been a part of many different aspects of the Early Childhood world.  I have taught infants, toddlers, preschool, Pre-K and Kindergarten. When I lived in Ohio I was an Administrator of a Day Care center for about 10 years.  For the past 6 years I have working here in the Early Childhood program through Poudre School District, first as a Paraprofessional and then was hired as an Early Childhood Teacher at Beattie Elementary.  

What I love about working at Beattie: 

This year will be my sixth year at Beattie Elementary in the Early Childhood program.  I teach one of the full day sessions daily  Monday-Thursday and  I am so excited about the opportunities that I will have as I get to know the staff, families, and students that make Beattie amazing! The school and administration is so welcoming and inviting to each person that comes into the school.  I have felt well loved and welcomed over the past several  years and can not wait to see what this year will bring.

Personal Interests/Hobbies: 

 I meet my husband at Ricks College (BYUI) several years ago and we have 3 children.  My oldest son Jacob, just graduated with a Pharmacy degree and is now working in Cheyenne  as a Pharmacist.  My middle son Dallin also  graduated from College and is pursuing a career in Statistics and Actuary.  He is currently working in his field in Cleveland, OH.  My youngest is my daughter Hallee, and she is starting her second year of college at the University of Utah in the nursing program. 

I love reading, anything Disney, watching movies, and spending time with my family.  My family enjoys going on Disney Cruises, traveling, playing games and spending time out in beautiful Colorado.
