Hometown:
I was born and lived near Dallas, Texas until I was in middle school. My family then moved to the small town of Encampment, Wyoming and that's where I graduated from high school. There were only 13 students in my graduating class!
Professional Background/Education/Experience:
Right out of high school, I attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins and received my bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts. I worked for several years in human resources, but realized that my true calling was to work with kids. I received my teaching certificate from Colorado Christian University in 2007 and began teaching 5th grade. In 2014, I completed my master's degree in Reading from the University of Northern Colorado. I've taught 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. I came to Beattie in 2016.
What I love about working at Beattie:
Beattie is a great place to be! Everyone is so welcoming and kind. I'm looking forward to a fantastic year.
Personal Interests/Hobbies:
My husband and I have been married since 1998 and have 2 amazing sons. Our oldest is currently attending Western Colorado University in Gunnison and our youngest is in 8th grade. Our youngest is involved in lacrosse and cross country. Practices and games keep us quite busy! In my free time, I enjoy being outside, sewing and crafting, and being in the kitchen. We also have a 4 legged son named Buster. He's a pug mix that makes us laugh every day!
