empower Frequently asked Questions

How do I log into Empower?

Starting October 2021 parents were mailed their unique login credentials. Additionally, videos in both English and Spanish briefly showing how to log in and navigate the Empower parent page was sent via text and email. Please make sure your PowerSchool information is updated so you will receive future district messages. If you do not receive your log-in information, please contact your school (DTS) to get these credentials.

How do I reset my Empower password? If I know my username, can I have my current password emailed to me?

Visit the parent page for Empower for video directions, or click here to access a handout. Note that your email address on file can only be successfully changed inside PowerSchool; contact your school if you need to update your contact information in PowerSchool.

I'm new to the Pattonville School District. How do I get set up with an Empower Account?

Once your student's enrollment is complete, his/her information should be in Empower. Visit the parent page for Empower for video directions, or click here to access a handout. Note that your email address on file can only be successfully changed inside PowerSchool; contact your school if you need to update your contact information in PowerSchool.

Is PowerSchool going away? Why do I still need PowerSchool?

No. You will still need PowerSchool to access student attendance, registration, and update family contact information. Empower is what you will use to see “real time” learning and academic progress.

I hear a lot about “Competency-Based Learning” (CBL) in reference to Empower. What is CBL?

Competency-Based Learning focuses the learning on the skills that students need to master in each content area. Empower allows us to report and track student mastery towards learning targets and competencies in a brand new and much more effective way

Does Empower have an app?

Not yet! But you are able to log into the Empower website through any browser on any Internet-capable device, including phones. One trick we recommend: turn the phone from a vertical to a horizontal mode. The site will then look more closely like it would on a desktop/laptop.
