Incoming 9th graders are eligible to take Health (0.5 credit) and PE (0.5 credit) over the summer. These classes will be 100% virtual. If your 8th grader would like to request these virtual summer courses, the request form can be filled out here. This form will not open until March 8th, 2024.
**Keep in mind, filling out this form is just a request. Confirmation of enrollment will be emailed to students in mid May. Students should only do summer school if they are requesting 2-3 YEAR LONG electives for next year. Electives will be VERY limited for 9th graders if they take summer school and do not have 2-3 YEAR LONG electives next year. (Full year electives are: Modern Language, Band, Choir, Orchestra, PLTW classes)
If you have questions about a course, detailed information can be found in the High School Course Catalog.
They will receive their registration forms with individual course recommendations already selected when we start registration on 2/14.
PHS students are required to complete community service hours in order to graduate. Students are eligible to start counting hours as early as the summer between 8th and 9th grades. Check out the community service website for more information.
