March 2018

The overarching guiding question for this road trip will be, “How might we design learning for our students that creates deeper engagement in an area of the Teacher Quality Standards?”

Day 1 (March 15)

Road Trip to Three PSD School Sites

Participants will will be immersed in several K-12 classrooms in 3 of our PSD schools:

  • Duffield School (K-9)
  • Memorial Composite High School (10-12)
  • Prescott Learning Centre (K-9)

Thank-you very much to our host sites and to the teachers who are opening their classrooms!

Day 2 (March 16)

Educator Innovation Day at Prescott Learning Centre

Participants will have an opportunity to dive more deeply into beliefs around student learning and the process of change, while creatively thinking about what might be possible in making one change to current practice. Day two will end with each participant having designed a ready-to-implement plan, which will result in a positive impact on student learning.

Between the visits at each site on DAY 1, there will be videos and conversations on board the motorcoach. Many of us have discovered that, often, the best learning from a conference or PD session takes place through conversations that occur “on the road” between sessions or on the drive home when we have uninterrupted time to process our observations and new learning with our colleagues.
