YEARBOOK POLICIES

Below are the policies for some common questions we receive each year. To view the full document, use this link: KWAHAES POLICY - Updated 5/18/2023

Portrait Policy

All students and school personnel must have their portraits made with the official school portrait photographer to be included in the current volume of the yearbook. Since the school-selected studio provides student identification cards at no charge and publication photos are taken simultaneously, there will be no charge for seniors, underclass students or faculty/staff who want only publication/ID photos. Effort will be made to get all 9-12 grade student portraits and all faculty and staff portraits into the yearbook. Because of plant deadlines and the possibility of students/staff missing portrait day, being uncooperative or unable to find, the yearbook staff is not responsible for unavailable portraits of students. Seniors may not substitute portrait photos to replace the official school portrait photograph. However, senior photos can be submitted to be used in the graduation video using the link on our website.

Senior Quotes

Senior quotes will no longer be included in the publication due to legal advice and new awareness at a national level.

Name Changes

Names printed with portraits will be the names submitted by the photography company. Any name change requests must be made before January of the current year. The request must be made by the parent/guardian of the student and will be verified through the school administration and counseling team. If portraits have already been submitted for printing, the adviser has the right to refuse a name change.

Senior Salutes

Senior salutes will include the name of the senior, one image of the senior student, and a 400 character count message. Messages will be printed as submitted. If a message needs to be edited, the person that submitted the salute can contact the adviser for changes. Payment is required at the time of submission to ensure the salute is included in the book.

Book Sales Policy

It is the responsibility of the student to purchase during the advertising period to guarantee a yearbook. All sales are final; there are no refunds.

It will be the responsibility of the buyer to provide proof of purchase if no record can be provided by the staff. A valid receipt or a canceled check deposited in the yearbook account will constitute proof of purchase.

Book Distribution

Books will be distributed on the allocated date; if a student is unable to pick up the book on the determined date, the book will be available in the office for pick-up after the distribution date has passed. All students will need to provide a photo ID to receive the book and will provide a signature by the respected name. Books cannot be picked up for anyone other than the individual. If a sibling or friend needs to receive the book, it will be available in the office the following day.

Once a book is handed to the individual, the staff is not responsible for theft or damaged books. If a book needs to be replaced due to theft or damage, it will be at the current price if one is available.
