Welcome to Pack 513! Below is information about our Pack and the Registration can be found under GET STARTED.
Pack 513 is chartered through St. John's Episcopal Church but we currently hold most of our meetings at Maplebrook Gym. We are one of many active family Cub Scout Packs in Naperville and are part of a larger district (Chippewa), which reports to a larger council (Three Fires Council) in northern Illinois. Our pack is led by a committee of parent volunteers. The committee meets monthly to plan and manage all the pack operations and activities including pack meetings, den meetings, membership, budgeting, award distribution, fundraising sales and pack social activities. Den leaders help coordinate grade level activities for their dens in alignment to the BSA requirements.

What is the expected time commitment for my child and for me as a parent/guardian?
Scouts are expected to come to monthly pack meetings (1 hour per month) as well as den meetings (1 hour per month). Each registered scout will work with his den and den leader to achieve the requirements and electives necessary to receive his range (advance to the next level). Parents are strongly encouraged to assist with den meetings (offering to host a meeting, lead activities, etc.) Most work will be done at the Den meetings, but activities and outings may also be scheduled in addition to monthly meetings. Other optional activities include pack fundraising (wreath sales) and pack social activities. With all that said, we know how busy life can be. While we strongly encourage your scout to attend every event, we know that is not always realistic. Scouts have the flexibility to make-up adventures when they are not able to attend.

Cub Scouts is a parent-led program, so we do ask that every family find a way to get involved. There are plenty of opportunities to fit everybody’s schedule and skillset: financial planning, fundraiser coordination, event planning, assisting with picking items up, and working with Scouts directly are a few ways to get involved. We are open to new ideas, activities and events – please bring your ideas to the Scoutmaster. There’s a place for everyone in Scouts!
