My name is Ms. Gruca. I've been teaching in Plainfield for 22 years. The greatest aspect of teaching in the same community and helping to open John F Kennedy Middle School is that I continue to develop relationships with families throughout our community. Some of my former students are even teachers at JFK!

I am so excited to have you in my class this year! I have so much planned for our experience together. I can't wait to get to know each and every one of you and build incredible art alongside of you. 

All I ask is that you come with an open mind and a loving heart--and to take risks with your writing and your thinking. My goal is to expose you to a different way of learning while sharpening your English Language Arts skill set through reading, writing, and discussion.  

I will incorporate local artists in our lessons to introduce you to real authors, poets, musicians, painters, and creators who believe in the power of written, verbal, and artistic expression. We will partner up with global classrooms to share culture and make international connections. 

My hope for you this year is that you are given the opportunity to learn in a new way about yourself and the people, places, and things that surround you.
