District 202 Student Services

Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 provides special education services to over 4,000 students. Those services are provided in a full continuum of offerings and are designed by those persons most familiar with the student's needs and are in compliance with Federal and State law. Our programs cover all disability areas and range from total inclusive placement to residential placement.  Approximately 95% of the students served receive special services in their neighborhood school.

All students receiving special education services are required to have an Individualized Education Plan (IEP) specifically outlining the extent, duration, and intensity of services.  The IEP is written and reviewed at least annually. As special educators in District 202, we are aware of the need to provide our challenged students with an education that prepares them for a successful adult life. We provide opportunities for students to learn the necessary skills to pursue further education, or to obtain employment.

Preparation for the transition needs of our special education students is directed toward both the classroom, for skill-based learning, and the community, for vocational education and life skills experience.

ISBE Parent Survey

National Center for Special Education Accountability Monitoring (NCSEAM) Survey for Parents of Students with Disabilities

Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) gathers information from a representative sample of parents with a child receiving special education services to determine the degree to which schools throughout the state are facilitating parent involvement in their child's education. Parents from each district in the state are surveyed once every six years.

How Can I Complete the Survey?

You may receive a survey in the mail from Measurement, Incorporated, the current contractor administering the ISBE survey.

The parent survey can be completed online or by mail.

What Will the Survey Responses be Used For?

Your answers will be combined with those from other parents to help the state and individual school districts improve family-school partnerships in special education.

Aggregated results of the survey will be reported in the State Performance Plan/Annual Performance Report on the main State Performance Plan, Data, and Accountability webpage

Is the Survey Anonymous?  Will my School Know I Completed it?

No one from your school district will know how you answered the survey questions.

Parent Letter - English, Spanish

Why didn't I get a copy of the survey?

ISBE selects a random group of parents to participate in the survey.  Not all parents will receive a survey.  If you did not get a copy of the survey, District 202 will be conducting their own survey later this school year.  All parents will have the opportunity to complete that survey.
