Event
On March 26, our members gathered for an insightful lecture on the social, historical, and political aspects of Korean reunification, led by Dr. Jung Jin-Heon. As a sociocultural anthropologist, Dr. Jung teaches at the National Institute for Unification Education under the Ministry of Unification and at Yonsei University’s Graduate School of International Studies. His research and work focus on North Korean migrants, shedding light on their experiences and challenges.
As our first guest lecture of the semester, the session sparked meaningful discussions on the impact of the North-South divide and the efforts made by both governments and citizens to bridge this gap. Participants were also encouraged to reflect on their own roles in raising awareness and advocating for the reunification of the two Koreas. Dr. Jung’s lecture was both engaging and informative, introducing our members to the concept of transnational imagination in a globalized society while shedding light on contemporary human rights abuses.
