PSCORE (People for Successful Corean REunification), our parent organization, is a non-profit NGO based in Seoul, South Korea. Established in 2006, PSCORE came together with a specific vision in mind—to assist in the reunification process of the Korean peninsula by aiding North Korean refugees in their resettlement in South Korea. Through its programs and emergency aid to refugees, PSCORE ultimately aims to "advocate for human rights in order to ensure the successful, secure, and sustainable reunification of the Korean Peninsula through inter-lateral cooperation and well-structured policies."
As as extension of the NGO, Yonsei PSCORE has adopted this vision and made it our own. As students, we wish to take advantage of our ability to peacefully incite change and encourage the preservation of human rights for all. Yonsei PSCORE hopes to reach students, NGOs, politicians, and the general public alike to spread the message that North Korean human rights and the peaceful reunification of the Korean peninsula is a matter that requires constant and vigilant attention and priority.
First-hand opportunities to study and participate in North Korea, defector, and reunification discussion will be available to all those whom are capable and willing through:
Holding regular study sessions and student presentations
Hosting dialogues with various speakers, experts, or North Korean defectors
Various student-designed presentations, contests, and model conferences
