This course integrates the basic principles of investing, financial literacy, and money management. Students will learn about credit, interest rates, savings and checking accounts, investments, the relationship between risk and return, diversification, risk management, and renting vs. buying. Students will participate in a semester-long budgeting simulation and stock market investing competition, recording gains and losses and analyzing the cause and effect of market fluctuations.

I have an undergraduate degree in English and a Master’s in Educational Technology. I am currently working toward a Master of Business Administration in Marketing.
I have taught ELA at the high school level for 11 years. This is my third year teaching business and personal finance at Brookline High School. My professional interests include ESG investing, social entrepreneurship, economic and social justice, organizational culture, branding, and social and emotional development.
