Canvas is a Learning Management System (LMS) that simplifies teaching and learning by connecting all the digital tools teachers use in a single platform. Canvas is the recommended LMS for all Brookline students and teachers in grades 6 through 12.
Canvas LMS:
Provides teachers with an online space for their course materials.
Integrates a variety of tools that teachers use to organize, manage, and deliver engaging lessons both online and in-person.
Provides a platform for student-to-student and student-to-teacher collaboration and communication.

Canvas accounts are created with brooklinek12.org accounts. Students do not have a separate password for Canvas and they cannot change your Canvas password.
Students using the Canvas student app on an iPhone or Android device, will be directed to sign in with their psbma.org username and password.

The Canvas Parent app allows parents to support their children's education by providing access to important class information.
The Canvas Parent app is available for parents using iOS or Android devices and can easily be configured in just a few minutes.
With the Canvas Parent app, parents can:
● View the list of their students' classes. For each class, parents can see assignments, (with due date, and instructions) and events.
● View their child's submission history and teacher feedback.
With the Canvas Parent app, parents cannot:
● Submit assignments, participate in discussions or take quizzes on their child’s behalf.
● Access course content (files, pages, other students’ work, etc.).
● Participate in the course in any way.
Instructions on setting up an observer account are here: Canvas Parent Instructions.
